CyberFirst GOLD status

ߣÍÃÊÓƵ School has been awarded CyberFirst GOLD status for 'delivering excellence in its Computing and Cyber Security education provision' at an awards ceremony at KPMG HQ in Birmingham.

The award is in recognition of the School’s commitment to digital literacy, computer science and cyber, its curriculum, student recruitment and progression, as well as engagement with employers, in supporting other local schools, and high levels of student participation in enrichment and Computing competitions.

Schools can submit applications to become BRONZE, SILVER or GOLD status schools and have to meet a set of criteria, which is then judged at panel to determine award status. This award is formally recognised by the National Cyber Security Centre (part of GCHQ) and means that ߣÍÃÊÓƵ School will now have further opportunities to engage its Computer Science students with local and national companies, as well as universities, seeking to invest time, expertise and resources with our computer science students.

The assessing panel stated that "ߣÍÃÊÓƵ School exemplifies national best practice in Cyber and Computing education. It demonstrates exceptional leadership, robust provision, and a sustained commitment to developing a cyber-aware, digitally literate school community."

ߣÍÃÊÓƵ will continue to develop its computing programmes, aiming to ensure that every student, regardless of background or area of study, has the opportunity to develop essential digital skills and cyber awareness for the future.
